Actor Njoro cuts a forlorn figure as he bids goodbye to his mentor Papa Shirandula at his emotional burial

Tears flowed in an emotional send-off early this morning for TV and comedy icon Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula. The village in Funyula clearly loved the imposing figure, and it was hard work trying to restrict attendance in relation to regulations surrounding Covid-19 pandemic.

It’s been confirmed that Papa Shirandula succumbed to Covid-19 as he developed breathing complications. It’s heartbreaking that this happened at Karen Hospital’s parking bay as the hospital didn’t consider his condition as an emergency.

Papa’s grieving widow, speaking at the burial site painfully blamed the hospital for her husband’s unfortunate death. This should also be a wake-up call to everyone who’s inclined to take the virus pandemic as a joke.

Papa Shirandula’s legacy in the art and theatre industry will be remembered, as the burial was flush with his work orphans and protégés.

One actor with whom the deceased legend had almost tangible chemistry with was Man Njoro, who appeared as a total wreck at his burial.

Rest in Peace, Papa.
