Well, folklores abound of erstwhile Maasai youth in Kenya, spearing full-grown lions to death. Times have changed. That’s cowardice, and the untold definition of ‘dumb’. It’s smarter in the long run protecting wildlife.
So, then, how can we define manliness in a modern situation? Here’s how, as originally written by Rafael Eliassen, a High Performance Life & Business Strategist, Entrepreneur and Investor.
Read, and learn:
Take control – Manliness isn’t in your height, biceps or that vain six-pack. It’s your ability to take action instead of waiting for other people to do it.
Know the rule of exchange – If you don’t receive back the respect and time you give to someone, walk the fuck away! Stop wasting time gaining no ground.
Be financially smart – Nothing is sexier and more powerful than having money in the bank. Develop high-income skills, curb your spending, and learn to invest. You’ll dine with kings.
Have a strong posture – Your posture can make or break your first impression. Forward head posture, hunchbacks can get you labeled as a nerd, or anti-social.
Don’t submit to peer pressure – Don’t smoke, drink, excessive partying just because others want you to. Make decisions based on what you like.
Be confident with humility – Weak men criticize others to feel good whereas true confidence lies in supporting others. Be gentle with persons lesser than you, as there also others greater than you.
Make eye-contact – It’s repulsive when you don’t have the guts to look people in the eye. Keep eye-contact until they look away. There’s a reason interviewers look for this trait. It exudes confidence.
Solve problems – Problems are inevitable in life. Instead of freaking out like a chicken, stay calm and act rationally. Some problems will be a product of other people: relax, take them in stride and solve them calmly.
Be bold – Have the balls to say what you mean. Nobody likes your ‘fake-nice’ gestures. Or, half-baked answers to influential issues. Make your stand known.
Don’t be needy – You shouldn’t need that girl or group of friends. Have a life of your own. Goals you are committed to. Stop trying so hard to influence someone to gain a favor, a business deal. Being needy is a sign of weakness.
Be a man, not a wuss!
